As the city and the nation at large strives to follow quarantine and social distancing recommendations, services such as ours are adapting in order to continue serving you, our patients, to the best of our ability. Whenever possible, we recommend you avoid traveling outside your home or put yourself in situations where you will be in close physical contact with others. However, we do not want the current situation to hinder the treatment of your injury. At Park Avenue Trauma, your health and recovery are our first priority.
Firstly, our office will remain open and our team of doctors and physical therapists will continue to be available to you. Many aspects of medicine, especially the treatment of traumatic injury and physical therapy can only be done in person. As such, first time evaluations performed by our doctors will continue to be done on-site, as well as any special follow up evaluations. We feel that these in-clinic evaluations are essential and necessary for our Doctors and Physical Therapists to determine the scope of your particular injury and to create the most effective treatment plans for our patients.
Additionally, all physical therapy treatments must be done in the office. This aspect of your treatment plan is hands-on and direct in-person work with our therapists is required. We also understand that much of our equipment is expensive and cannot be duplicated at home. You can visit our office with confidence knowing that we are strictly following every available protocol to keep both our patients and our providers safe.
Whenever possible, in the case of Follow-up Doctors andPhysical Therapist Evaluations, we will be utilizing the video-enabledDoxy.me platform to provide services through telemedicine. Doxy.me is a completely secure video appointment system made specifically for healthcare. To protect your personal information it is fully HIPAA compliant, does not record calls, and saves none of your data. It doesn’t even require you to make an account. We look forward to seeing you!
